Merion is one of the towns that make up the Main Line and neighbor to the city of Philadelphia. Historical landmarks and places Merion offers include the General Wayne Inn and Merion Friends Meeting House. The Merion Civic Association has been responsible for several improvements to Merion such as paving, lighting, street signs, tree-planting and better fire and police protection. The main commercial area is located along Montgomery Avenue which includes restaurants, shops and stores, and local landmarks that are more than half century old such as The Tavern Restaurant and Merion Botanical Park. Along with local entertainment options, the Paoli/Thorndale line offers easy commute to Philadelphia.
